Talented_ink for President

My fellow Americans, we have heard two candidates talking about change, the need for change, and how they will make change, but I say that the time is NOW! The time is NOW for this country to once again be the true democracy that our forefathers had intended it to be. The time is NOW to end the common circus of the Democratic and Republican National Convention. My fellow Americans, the time is NOW to end the preferential treatment that the Democrats and Republicans receive in regards to media coverage and campaign funding. I believe that in our "democracy" ALL parties should be able to be heard and represented. In my 31 years, I have been a democrat, but for this election, I am the first member, but definitely not the last member of the Revolution party. This is a party that is not devoted to the potential of future change, but is solely devoted to changing the way things are NOW!
Instead of witty and charismatic rhetoric to swing votes my way, I choose to let my stance on the issues speak for themselves. My first order of business should the American people elect me is to get our troops out of Iraq. I don't care how many polls or how many politicians tell you that we're "winning" the war because it's impossible to win anything if we're constantly sending troops to Iraq and consistently pumping more money into our war efforts. I say that spending ends now, and we start using that money where it's needed...in America!
Senator Barack Obama believes that companies that are located on U.S. soil and employ U.S. citizens should have a better advantage than those companies that choose to relocate and hire overseas and I wholeheartedly agree. I say that U.S. companies deserve a tax break for employing U.S. citizens and I impose a tax hike to those companies that operate on foreign soil. Foreign companies will still be able to import their wares in the same way they're able to now, and I believe that lowering taxes for U.S. maintained companies is only fair since foreign companies will have a lowered import tax.
On the subject of U.S. and foreign, I'm tired of hearing talk about illegal aliens. I'm tired of it because too many politicians, members of the media, and other so called pundits would have us to believe that illegal aliens are responsible for AIDS, teenage pregnancy, and every other problem that ever will plague this country. When elected to office, I will draw the focus of the Immigration and Naturalization Service away from stopping new foreigners from entering our country and put their energies into stricter processing for U.S. citizenship. Yes, I am saying that I believe that the tired, and poor huddled masses should be able to breathe free in America, but if anyone wants the freedom that U.S. citizenship holds, they must understand that with this blessing, there is also a price to pay. Now there will undoubtedly be many too disagree with me and a few of them are probably beer swilling, tax evading, donut eating couch potatoes. You were blessed enough to become U.S. citizens simply by birth, but there are many who bleed and sweat to enjoy half the freedom you have and there are U.S. citizens abroad who are not only bleeding and sweating, but many have also died just to protect the freedom that you choose to abuse. I will not stand for any ingrateful U.S. citizen denying a foreigner's right to work hard to show reason why they should become a naturalized U.S. citizen and if you believe in this country being a democracy, I don't see why you should disagree either.
Welfare is meant to assist America's own poor and tired masses, but the time is NOW to put to rest any and all citizens who abuse the money that tax paying Americans spend on them. Too often I have seen and heard of cases where an honest person is unable to receive welfare usually for some inane reason while some women are able to become baby making factories and view their children as meal tickets to keep mama on the road to financial freedom. I will not stand by and scream for welfare reform, but instead, I will work hard to make that change happen. I believe in enforcing stricter policies that will be intent on weeding out those who can but won't work for themselves. There are those who are physically or mentally unable to perform work duties, but there are also many who just want to hold out their hand and wait for their dear old Uncle Sam to give them money, but I will enact more proactive job placement searches, to find employment for these former freeloaders so that the tax money that went to them can be used elsewhere in our country while this country can also use some of the money these people will be taxed.
Whether you believe in God like I do, that's on you, and ultimately, we can all agree that we have free will. I can't tell you to sit down when you pee just like you can't tell me what to do with my body because it's my choice. My point is that whether you like it or not, I believe in pro-choice. I happen to agree that life starts at conception, but no U.S. citizen has the right to tell a woman that she can not abort the seed that a rapist planted inside her and no one has the right to tell another woman that she has to keep the baby no matter how much she doesn't want to even if she can't afford to take care of a baby. With that in mind, it's my wish that those who are thinking about abortion choose abstinence or adoption instead, but if you've made up your mind, then America will not stand in your way.
I don't just believe that children are our future, I want to spend the money on education reform to let them know that we care about their future and in doing so, we are making a better future for this country period. I'm tired of seeing lackadaiscal teachers trying to educate kids using torn and outdated school books in a dilapidated public school building while there are kids in beautiful private schools using better books and being taught by caring teachers, and more often, it's not race that plays an issue, but the almighty dollar instead. I'm tired of seeing concerned parents making sure their private school stays well funded, and now I'm calling for all concerned citizens to help me clean up our public school system. First, I want to give teachers a pay raise because if I'm concerned about our country's future and our children's future, then we have to take care of the molders of tomorrow's leaders. Next, all those billions that have been spent on wartime can now be spent on peace time and some of that spending starts off at p.s. 35 in Brooklyn, NY and Galena Park Elementary in Houston, TX. Wherever there are children being taught, and this includes our homeschooled children, government funding should be going towards their education.
My fellow Americans, these are but 6 key issues that I intend to work on should you elect me as your President. I also intend to initiate raises for police officers, because I know that our neighborhoods need honest police, but it's hard to be honest when you risk taking a bullet on every call, but you're working for table scraps. I also believe in stronger criminal rehabilitation because I've seen too many repeat offenders not to understand that prison isn't the end answer. We either have to devote more time to the mental and spiritual rehabilitation of the criminal mind, or invest in an offshore penal colony, but my pick is rehabilitation. My name is not known, and my views haven't been heard, but I intend to go door to door until my name is on the ballot in November. I will visit every school, every hospital, every church, and every other place of business and worship I can visit to talk to my fellow Americans. My name is Talented_ink and I want to be your President of these United States.

So are you running against me?? O.o
Wow, what happens if all of us hubbers run? That is going to get confusing. I can see already that I'm going to have to vote early and vote often! Great hub!
want to join forces? I'm cool with being the VP, especially since Ms. Palin so eloquently stated the VP doesn't do a whole lot anyway!
You've got my vote! But, who's your running mate...don't spring a young rookie on us...k? LOL
Sweet, I like this ticket already. I think I generally ended up agreeing with your reform anyways, which is good, and where we don't agree we can argue to a compromise and see where it gets us :P
I have military and combat experience, did drugs in college, cheated on an ex and love sports. I think I am qualified. Pick me as your running mate because I am terrific at doing nothing but looking busy. Anyone second my self-nomination?
Well it certainly sounds like I may have a worthy adversary! I'll tell you what, you vote for me, and when I become benevolent dictator, you can step in as president! I wouldn't make this offer to just anyone, you know. Think it over and my people will be along shortly, to get your answer. I know, after you talk to them, you will make the smart choice.
Wonderful, passionate hub, Talented_Ink. I'd add a chapter on healthcare if I were you, though. :)
Indeed Ananta. if Talented_Ink has a good issue on healthcare, he has my vote;)
Only problem is it won't help because I'm No U.S citizen;)
You're welcome :) Again, good hub!
Hi Talented Ink. I would most definitely vote for you if I were in the USA. If you don't make the top job, could you come and run for UKPM instead? I think you started the hub as a joke, but then got serious, and the issues that you hit on are the self-same issues that are troubling us in the UK. If we ordinary citizens can see these things in a clear-sighted manner, why on earth can't the politicians? BTW Great hub!
talented_ink,
Since I am a teacher and you intend to give me a pay raise, I think I may just have to vote for you... but I still like that Palin lady and I am the only known member of Palin for President... what, oh what should I do. I am so conflicted. Here's the deal, if you can build me a bridge to somewhere, I will vote for you.
sschilke
Really well thought out manifesto, Talent. If I could, I might have voted for you.
Talent, if there is need for a PM in the UK, I'd be willing to do it :)
Via the Revolution that is Talented Ink! Wow, who would have thought that there would be someone out there who really thinks like the rest of us? Crazy. I'm usually having to pick between what I don't like and what I really don't like off the politics buffet. But much as Goldilocks said, "This is just right!" I'll buy a t-shirt and help you hang your posters on the gym wall - just let me know! Great hub!!
dude, seriously? i would vote for you. get your ass out there in the election! :P
all of those are things that i want in this country.
talented_ink, you know you'll never get elected by actually addressing any serious issues. Where do you stand on flag burning, same sex marriage and lapel pins? These are the things the people are really concerned about.

Are you 35 and born a U.S. Citizen? Do you watch Rocky, no matter waht, every time it is on tv? Do you hate the French? These are the only pre-requisites.
